About FileConverter
A free online file converter for images, audio, video, documents, ebooks and archives. No sign-up, no watermarks, and no paid tier.
What FileConverter Does
FileConverter takes a file you upload in your browser, converts it on the server, and hands you a download link. That is the whole product — there is no account system, no dashboard, and nothing to install.
Conversions are grouped into 6 categories and currently cover 59 distinct file formats, including DOC, DOCX, PDF, ODT and RTF for documents; JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, TIFF and SVG for images; MP3, WAV, FLAC, AAC, M4A, OGG and Opus for audio; MP4, AVI, MKV, MOV, WebM and FLV for video; EPUB, MOBI and AZW3 for ebooks; and ZIP, TAR and 7Z for archives.
Because the tool runs on a shared server rather than inside your browser, conversions are limited to 200 MB per file. Larger files need a desktop tool or a dedicated transfer service — we would rather state the real limit than advertise an unlimited one.
Not every format pair is supported even when both formats are listed. If a conversion is not possible the tool tells you instead of returning a broken or empty file.
What You Can and Cannot Expect
Honest details about how conversion works here
Real Conversions, Not Renames
Files are re-encoded into the target format. Some conversions are lossless, some are lossy, and the difference matters — each conversion page explains what changes.
Image Tools Included
On the image converter you can also compress, resize, rotate and watermark images before or instead of changing format.
Audio & Video Support
Audio and video conversions run through FFmpeg. Re-encoding is involved, so output quality depends on your source and the target settings.
How Your Files Are Handled
Uploads are deleted from the server as soon as your conversion finishes. We log the file name, formats, size, timestamp and IP address of a conversion for abuse monitoring — see the Privacy Policy.
Free to Use
There is no charge and no account. The trade-off is the 200 MB file limit and shared-server processing.
Quality Is Not Guaranteed
Converting a lossy format to a lossless one cannot recover data that was already discarded. Complex Word layouts and unusual fonts may also shift during PDF export.
How It Works
Three steps, no account needed
Choose a Conversion
Open the converter for the format you need, for example DOCX to PDF or JPG to PNG. The right formats are pre-selected.
Upload Your File
Drag a file into the drop zone or click to browse, up to 200 MB. The site validates the extension before processing.
Download the Result
Conversion runs on the server and a download link appears. The temporary upload is deleted once the job finishes.
