1. Information We Collect

FileConverter is a free online file conversion tool. We do not require registration, and the only personal data we process automatically is the IP address recorded in our conversion log (see section 2).

When you use our online file converter, the file you upload is stored on our server only while the conversion runs, and the temporary copy is deleted as soon as the conversion finishes. The finished output file is not deleted automatically - it stays available to you at its download link and remains on our server until it is removed by routine housekeeping.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use uploaded files solely for the purpose of performing the requested conversion. We do not read, view, share, or sell the contents of your files. Our free PDF converter and all other conversion tools process files in an automated manner with no human access to file content.

Each conversion is recorded in a server-side log containing the original filename, the source and output formats, the output file size, a timestamp, and your IP address. We use this log to operate the tool, diagnose conversion failures, and estimate traffic. The log is not used to build a profile of you, and it is not sold or passed to advertising networks.

We may collect anonymous usage statistics (page views, conversion types, browser information) to improve our service. This data cannot be traced back to any individual user.

3. Cookies

FileConverter uses minimal cookies for basic functionality (e.g., remembering your format selections). We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features may be affected.

4. Data Security

All file transfers are encrypted using HTTPS. Temporary uploads are deleted once the conversion completes, and the remaining files are stored on our own infrastructure. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction of data. Because the site is served over HTTPS, your IP address is visible to our hosting provider as part of normal web-server logging.

5. Third-Party Services

We do not share your files or your conversion logs with third parties, and our free online file conversion service operates entirely on our own infrastructure. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not run third-party trackers on the converter.

6. Your Choices

Because the service requires no account, there is no personal profile to view, edit or export. If you want the conversion log for your IP address removed, or you have any other privacy question, email us at the address below and we will deal with it.
